Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents and Staff,

It is my great pleasure to welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at North York Academy. This is my 34th year of working in education, having spent my time as a Math Teacher, Director of Admissions, and Principal at many of Toronto’s most prestigious educational institutions.

As your Principal I am excited to begin another year at one of Canada’s finest International schools.  North York Academy is situated perfectly in the heart of Toronto, North America’s fourth largest city. Our school has access to all  the excitement and opportunities of a modern city and is only a few minutes away from the most beautiful and rejuvenating natural scenery you will find anywhere in Canada.

This year we will continue to provide unique and innovative programs for our international and local students who enjoy our high academic standards and a supportive environment. We expect to prepare even more of our students for admission to excellent Canadian universities such as the University of Toronto, York University, Waterloo, Ryerson University and Humber College.

As well, we hope to expand our popular programs in the arts and film studies. These programs provide valuable hands on training in modern creative arts, and help our students develop language skills and social skills that will give them an advantage in their lives well beyond their high school years. Our fitness facilities and on site restaurant also help bring students into social situations where they can more easily make friends and support one another.

Moreover, we are excited to build on the success of our unique after-school programs in English and Mathematics. These programs give our students as well as local students the chance to enrich their mathematical and English language skills in a friendly and engaging environment. And, this year we hope to complete our brand new IELTS Testing Centre.

I am looking forward to another amazing year at North York Academy.

We set high expectations for our students and work hard to nurture each student’s potential. We partner with our students and seek to deepen their knowledge, provide enriching and innovative learning experiences, while also urging our students out of their comfort zone to attempt new challenges.

Our students graduate from North York Academy with the skills, mind sets and qualities that will best equip them for success in the world of the future. Our students are intelligent, resilient, creative, imaginative, disciplined, dedicated to life-long learning, respectful and ethical. They are the future leaders and role models of society.
